How to fashionably wear a waxing strip on your head!

I have had a pack of 50 waxing strips from 2007. I did not buy the waxing strips because if I ever attempt waxing my hands or legs I would not have them anymore. My mother bought them and she never used them so they just lay in the junk drawer until yesterday .

I was to make bow hairbands for a stall my friends and I were to set up, and me being me decided I would procrastinate for as long as I could and wait till the last day. So yesterday I started making the hairbands or rather the bows on the hairbands, at first I made them with cloth. The cloth bows
were OK but they took forever because I an not exactly a genius when it comes to these kind of things and I burned my hand with the hot glue gun so.....

After that I used ribbon, they were so easy to make! They took me like 2 minutes and I thought they looked great to. However I ran out of the ribbon I was using and I did not want to use another ribbon as the quality of the other ribbons were not nearly as good as the one I was using.

Finally,  I resorted to the waxing strips believe it or not they make the most eye-catching bows of them all!! If you find waxing strips to plain you can dress them up with paint ,shells ,buttons or anything that you might find pretty!!

Ah! that's all!! At times the most mundane things can be made interesting. Byeeeeeeeeee!!

Scrub away!!!

Blueberry gel scrub

This is definitely one of my favourite scrubs just because it smells so delicious. It is just so fresh! I was sort of disappointed  to find out that they did not have a blueberry body mist, but for the timing this will do. It is a good scrub but if one is tempted to buy it again, the lure would definitely be the irresistible fragrance.

This is how the gel looks ...the exfoliating particles are actually made of blueberry seeds :o

 The Honeymania cream scrub

This smells really sweet, it is honey after all. If you have dry skin, this would be perfect for you. It leaves your skin really soft and has a sweet fragrance. Fun fact about this scrub — the exfoliating particles just dissolve onto the water on your skin after exfoliating. If you are looking for a scrub solely for the purpose exfoliating, I would not recommend this one but if you are looking for a mild scrub that smells good and works as a good moisturiser, then this is your scrub!

Mango Cheesecake!!

Mangoes are one of my favourite things about summer. They are just sooo delicious. So I tried capturing the divine taste of mango in a cheesecake!!!

Ingredients

Crust
1 1/4 cup of digestive biscuits
1/4 cup of sugar
1/3 cup of butter

Cheesecake
2 tablespoons of unflavoured gelatine dissolved in 1/2 cup of water
160g fresh cream
1 cup cream cheese
1 1/2 cup mango pulp ( preferably ripe alphonso mangoes )
condensed milk and sugar ( as to your liking )

Method

Crust
Crush the digestive biscuits. Melt the butter and mix it in with the digestive biscuit. Add sugar to the mixture and combine the ingredients evenly. Now resist the temptation to devour the mixture and patiently press it into your cake tin or the container used. If you feel that the cheesecake will stick to the side of your container, line the container with plastic wrap or cling film.

This is a zoomed version of what it should look like.

Cheesecake
Dissolve the gelatine in hot water and set aside. Whip the cream till it reaches soft peak stage. Now add the cream cheese and mango pulp to that . Add condensed milk and sugar to the mixture —  adjust according to taste. I think I used about 120ml of condensed milk as I thought it diluted the taste of mango and I used 1/4 cup of sugar. Finally, add the gelatin into the mixture. Pour the mixture into your container and keep it in your refrigerator till it sets. You can also decorate the cheesecake with mango slices.

That's all !
Have fun!
And if anybody has an easy recipe for macarons or one that does not involve almond flour, please let me know .

Recipes for lazy people...

Like all humans I tend to get hungry, now when I get hungry I can't just eat anything . And I don't want to spend hours on preparing a gourmet meal because I am kind of lazy...... So if you are anything like me I have a few recipes for you :D

Over the past few weeks I have been trying to cook. Try being the key word here. I  am an extremely clumsy person therefore my cooking is = kitchen explosion. But even then I have done my very best to come up with a few simple 10-minute  recipes.

1) Lemon tea

This is probably the healthiest recipe of them all.
You will need
1 tablespoon of tea leaves I used darjeeling tea
2 tablespoons of sugar you can use a zero calorie substitute if you want to.
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
 1 cup of water
and a slice of lemon for decoration.

   Method
Boil the water. Then and the tea leaves in the water and let them soak for about 10-15mins. DO NOT boil the tea leaves with the water. Strain the tea out and the sugar and the lemon. And there you have. It is a very beneficial healthy drink and it is so simple I feel stupid writing a recipe for it.

2) Pasta Time

Another easy but less healthy recipe. The hardest part of this recipe was boiling the pasta. Ha ha.....I almost burnt it . Anyhow, for this recipe you will need

1) 2 tablespoons of Cream cheese
2) 1/4 cups of Milk
3) 1/2 teaspoon Oregano or more
4) Grated cheese (you can use any kind of cheese you like)
4) and Pasta!

Method
Mix the cream cheese and the milk over medium heat. Heat it for about 30 seconds. Add the oregano
to it and pour it over your pasta. Then add a lot of grated  cheese over it and voila!

That's all for now. Byeeeee!!!

DIVERGENT!!

I am sort of obsessed with this book. I like reading books on long train journeys. So I got this book along with me on the train and I could not stop reading it. I actually read the whole book on the train.!! I didn't have high expectations for this book, which in a way is good . Books that I do have high expectations for usually disappoint me somehow. This book is about a 16-year-old girl who tries to find her place in a dystopian society. It is written by Veronica Roth . What I really like about this book is that it deals with romance, action, suspense with touch of humour.

This is what it looks like, sorry its a bit battered.

And here are some drawings I drew based on the book..........

Tris's family. (P.S Tris is not a crow)

 Favourite Faction

Guess what this is?

Like I said I am sort of obsessed.

I know the movie has already released. They did a decent job, I guess. But I never compare a book to its movie as the book is always better. The sequels were sort of disappointing but I love this book nonetheless.

Cadbury Cake

Cake Time!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday, I made this delicious Cadbury chocolate cake. This cake is sooo easy to make and it works out well every time. Yesterday I made cupcakes and a cake since I had more cake batter than I anticipated. This is how it looked. Ok to start of with I am no baking maestro. I am sorry about how cracked the muffins are though .......

This is cake not bread.

I found this recipe on the back of the Cadbury coca powder box, so technically this recipe belongs to Cadbury.

For this recipe you will need.

1) 2 cups of flour.

2) 5 tablespoons of  Cadbury's coca powder.

3) 1 teaspoon of baking powder

4) 100gms of butter ( at room temperature)

5) 3 eggs

6) 1 cup of sugar ( I prefer granulated or icing sugar.)

7) 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

8) Milk ( this depends on how dry your batter is.)

Method

Combine the flour, coca powder and the baking powder in one bowl. Then take another bowl, first combine  the butter and sugar together to form a creamy mixture. Then add the eggs and the vanilla extract to the mixture. Then combine the two mixtures together. Now add milk, slowly to reach the perfect consistency. Add milk a little  at a time so that the mixture does not become too runny. The mixture should look something like this-

I don't know if this is weird but I often prefer eating the cake batter just like that.

After this just grease and flour your cake moulds and pour the batter into them.

Then put in the oven at 180 degrees centigrade for 30 minutes. When you take the cake out of the oven, poke a toothpick in the middle to check if it has baked thoroughly. If it has baked then let it cool for 5 minutes or so. Then flip the cake tin and gently tap the underside of the cake tin. Don't use a hammer to tap the cake tin, I speak from personal experience. If the cake does not come out drag a knife along the inner edges of the cake tin.

And that's all you can use icing on it but I am sort of lazy soooo.......

I hope you have fun making this delicious cake, Bye!!!

Ways to recycle glass stuff part 2

Hellooo!! Welcome to Ways to recycle glass stuff part 2. This is just a continuation of the previous blog. So enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!

1) Plain glasses
These are just plain clear old glasses. These can be used to store pencils, pens, brushes, etc. They look really pretty, especially if you want to store colourful stuff like colour pencils.

BOWLS

This segment is specially dedicated to all glass bowls that have been rejected by you.

1) Fish Bowls

Yes, I do use empty fish bowls to decorate my room. They actually don't look bad. I used them to store random objects like body scrubs, thick thread, pebbles, etc. I put some cotton at the bottom so
that the bottom of the bowl doesn't break when I throw random things inside.

R.I.P Goby (my pet goldfish)

2) The Jewellery Bowl

They are cool ways to store your favourite pieces of jewellery. I particularly like storing metallic jewellery in bowls like this one.

Can you spot the owl?

5) Art bowls

This is basically like the jewellery bowl except you store artsy stuff in. It helps if you have a bowl set of 3-4 bowls that you don't really like. These are pretty, useful and they make you seem organized.

Thats all, I am out of ideas sooo.........Bye!! = D

Ways to recycle glass stuff!!

I have a new obsession with stuff made of glass. I just have a few ways to recycle your old glasses into easy DIY decorations for your room. So here we go!!

1) The Grainy Jar

I have no idea why I just called it that. Anyhow....

This is so easy to make. All you need is a bottle, preferably an airtight one, or you could just use a cork stopper. You will also need a few grains. I used pink lentil (I have no clue why it is called so !! ) and some rice. If you are using a bottle with a narrow mouth you might want to use a paper funnel.

2) The Scented Glass

I need to come up with better names but I called this one the scented glass because it smells amazing. Once upon a time someone gave me a gift, I liked how it smelt , but I didn't like the colour of the jar so I took out the potpourri and put it in a normal glass and Ta-da !

Its the glass which the teddy has its hand on :D

The fragrance thingy....which you can probably find in any supermarket.

3) Mini Jar

I call it the mini jar because it is so small and so cute. I used it to store the small beads that I like.

Yes! that is a Hidesign tag. I find them pretty useful at times.

You could also use small jars like these to store bobby pins or rubber bands.

4) Old Jars

All these jars are of the same design and here are 3 interesting ways to use them.

The first one is a personal favourite

1) The left one — Store coins. Plain and simple.
2) The grainy jar — Choose your favourite grains.
3) The right one — This is a jar I use to store all my lip balms. I just used a tinted plastic wrapping paper to wrap the jar and then I tied a golden ribbon around its neck to form a cute little bow.

That's all for now !!! Keep smiling :D

DIY Thread Bracelet

And here is another quick DIY that you can do in probably 10 mins. What I love about this one is that you only need 3 things!!

For this you need

1) Thick thread
2) Scissors
3) A clipboard

I feel like I am writing a recipe for some kind of cake :)

1) Measure your wrist and cut 9 pieces of thread, leave about an inch extra for each. Then clump the threads together and tie a overhand knot.
How to tie a overhand knot.

2) Then clip the knot to your clipboard. Divide the threads into three and then braid them.

3)  To finish it of tie another overhand knot. Then just tie it around your wrist and voila!!

Thats all!! I hope you have fun making this :D

DIY Cloth Ring

HI!!! So I made this cloth ring and I really liked it. I think it's like my favourite DIY project, it's just so easy to do and I hope you have as much fun as I did when I made it.

All you need for this is

1)A pebble

2)Acrylic paint(any colour of your choice I just used golden)/nail polish

3)Cloth again any colour you would like to use and

4)Fabric glue

Lets get started!!

1) Measure the size of your finger and cut cloth accordingly . Leave a bit of  extra cloth if you are sewing the two ends of the cloth together. Then just glue or sew both ends of the cloth.

2)Then take  the pebble cover in acrylic paint or nail polish. I personally recommend nail polish. Then just wait for the pebble to dry.

3)Now just stick the coloured pebble on to the cloth. Hold it down for a few seconds.

And we are done!! That's how easy it is have fun making it.

Arbury Cloth Bracelet

So I have a few DIY bracelets ideas that you could try out.I hope you like them.

Cloth Bracelet

Just take a piece of  black cloth that fits your wrist. Use fabric glue to stick pieces of velcro  on both loose ends. Find a smooth stone or a pebble dip it in acrylic paint, here I used white acrylic paint because I thought it would look good on black. Use a glue to stick the stone/pebble on to the cloth. After that you can  just leave it like that but I just stuck a random charm, on the pebble/stone and that's about it.

6 easy ways to spice up your room

 Colourful items

I get a lot of watch sets as gifts ,you know the ones where you can change straps. The watches stopped working so I was left with the straps. The straps were just so colourful I just couldn't help but display them.

 Old jars

Here I just took a old jar wrapped it in tinted plastic wrap, tied a ribbon around it and voila !
You can store whatever you want to in these. I just put a few lip balms in this one.

   Stuffed toys

Small or big stuffed toys from your childhood are one of the easiest ways to spice up your bedroom. This stuffed toy, from god knows when is by far my favourite.

 Candles

Whether just decorative or scented. They just look so pretty when lit. Just don't burn your house.

Colour pencils

I love these pencils ergo I did not want to just stuff them anywhere. They add colour to your room and you don't need to use a special container you can even display them glass glasses. That's confusing ...anyhow you get my point glasses that are made of glass.

Glass bowls

You can put anything you want to in these. I've just put some dry crayons in this one because there so colourful and as you've probably realized by now I love colour/colourful things. You can also use them to keep a few special bracelets or necklaces.

A few simple ways to add some spice to your room. If you have pretty bracelets or shells or pebbles or anything like that don't store them in your cupboard bring them out and have some fun with them.
That's all for now . Keep smiling.
Yummy cakes........
Or more like yummy cake!
Remember how I posted the last disastrous cake.
So I thought why not post a yummier cake. If yummier is a word.
So this cake came out pretty well and it tasted great!!!!!

It is just normal cake with green food colourng and normal yummy (no cake mix) chocolate cake.
